Adams & Martin Group is partnering with a well-regarded law firm in Newport Beach to identify a Litigation Assistant to support its litigation team. This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule, offering one remote workday per week following onboarding.
Position Overview
The Litigation Assistant will work closely with litigation attorneys and litigation management to provide hands-on case support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general case management and litigation support
- Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda
- E-file (and paper file when required) documents in state and federal courts
- Track court and case deadlines using firm docketing software
- Organize, review, and summarize case materials and correspondence
- Assist with trial and arbitration preparation
- Prepare charts, summaries, spreadsheets, and privilege logs as needed
- Maintain accurate time records for billable tasks
- Utilize document management and firm software, including Microsoft Office and NetDocuments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred
- Prior litigation experience as a legal secretary or junior paralegal preferred
- Proficiency with state and federal e-filing systems
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and litigation procedures
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
- Team-oriented with strong professionalism and discretion
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
